CRAIG FOLSON

Attended So. Methodist Univ. in Dallas, Texas from 1962-1966 and earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1966. Attended So. Meth. Univ. Law School from 1966-1969 and earned a Juris Doctor Degree in 1969. I was General Counsel for an oil company in Dallas from 1970-1976. I then formed my own oil and gas exploration company in 1976 and presently still explore for oil and gas. I live and office in Dallas, Texas. I was married from 1976-1982 and again from 2004-2009. There were no children from either marriage.

I was the capt. and only Sr. on the 1961 Grand Forks Central High School Hockey team. We won the 1st State Hockey Championship in 1961 and will celebrate the 50th Anniversary of that victory during the No. Dak. State High School Championship to be played at the Ralph Engelstad Arena on Feb 26 &27, 2011. Serge Gambucci was our coach and he along with the 12 still living members of that team will be in attendance. I was a letterman on Central's football team from 1959-1961. The highlight of all my football experiences was beating Fargo Central in 1960 by a score of 6-0. It marked the 1st time in 13 yrs that Grand Forks Central had beaten the Fargo Central Midgets (never could understand that nickname!). Fargo was on our 6 yd line with 5 seconds remaining in the game. I deflected the pass thrown to the intended receiver in the end zone and the game ended. I always thought if he had caught the ball Fargo Central would have scored then kicked the extra point with no time on the clock and we would have lost 7-6! I would never have lived down that scenario. I was lucky to be in the right place at the right time. I was, also, on the Central High track team from 1959-1961 and we scored a 'major upset' in 1961 by winning the State High School track championship that year in Valley City. I felt blessed to have had outstanding coaches as Serge Gambucci and Ken Rio in those years. Our success was a result of their committment to excellence and alot of hard work every practice every year!
