Ardell E. Taylor

April 7, 1943 - April 30, 2020 Ardell “Ardy” E. Taylor, Fargo, ND, passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2020, at Sanford Hospital.

Ardell was born on April 7, 1943 in Grand Forks, ND to Wallace and Irene Taylor. He attended school in Grand Forks and graduated from Central High School in 1961. He was passionate about his involvement with Boy Scouts of America and earned the Eagle Scout Badge in March of 1960. After high school, he enlisted in the Army Reserves (ROTC) for two years and was trained in the medical field to the equivalent of an RN in nursing. He was previously married to Ruth Raymond and together they had two children. His working career carried him near and far across the country living in Fargo, ND; Moorhead, MN; Costa Mesa, CA; Lake Forest, CA; and retiring to Eagle Point, OR.

After the Army Reserves, he embarked on his career in sales. He worked for United States Tobacco Company for 25 years and then worked for Swisher International another 25 years until his retirement.

Ardy was passionate for the well being of his family and friends. He was always ready to lend a hand, offer some sage advice, a story, or a joke. He loved catching up on all his old western movies and listening to old school country music in retirement. He would record them and watch them over and over again. He loved to laugh and hear stories of his children’s and grandchildren’s escapades.

Ardell is survived by his children Scott (Susan) Taylor, Watertown, SD and Kim Nordland, West Fargo, ND; 5 grandchildren Alisha (Kane) Hauber, Fargo, ND; Kara (Bret) Henning, Watertown, SD; Chase Taylor, Watertown, SD; Ty Taylor, Watertown, SD; Mason Nordland, West Fargo, ND; 3 great-grandchildren with one more on the way, Wesley Henning, Blayke Henning, Emrie Henning; his sister Jan Dooley, Talent, OR and his nephew Jeff (Amy) Dooley, Nashville, TN.

He was preceded in death by his parents Wallace and Irene Taylor.

In the wake of the current pandemic, a private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
