Mavis Eileen (Merritt) Cronk (1943 - 2011)


Mavis Eileen (Merritt) Cronk, 68 of Nampa, Idaho, died Sunday, December 11, 2011, after a year-long battle with cancer. Mavis was born in Grand Forks, North Dakota on July 20, 1943, to Raymond and Barbara Merritt. She attended school in Grand Forks, graduating from Central High School in 1961 and subsequently attended Aakers Business College. She met Phillip Cronk in 1961 and they married the following year. She had a 30 year career with the Air Force as a civil servant. Mavis and Phil moved to Nampa, Idaho in 1997. Phil and Mavis enjoyed traveling together and were part of the Good Sam Kaveman Travelers' Chapter. Mavis was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Duane Merritt; and her stepbrother, Everett Schumacher. She is survived by her loving husband; her children: Stephen Cronk (Minneapolis, MN), Jason Cronk (Boise, ID), and Karissa Armbrust (Nampa, ID); and her grandchildren: Samantha, Maren, Sierra, and Giada, as well as her step-brother Kenneth Schumacher (Great Bend, KS). She was a wonderful, loving, generous woman, who was loved and will be missed by all.


A Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, December 16th at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 8 S. Midland Blvd in Nampa. Arrangements are being provided by the Zeyer Funeral Chapel, Nampa. 467-7300.
