Norman “Ray” Holmen, born May 24, 1943, lost his battle with cancer and passed away on June 24, 2021, at UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida. Ray earned a BSCE degree at the University of North Dakota and was a resident of St. Augustine, Florida, for the past 12 years, after retiring from 30 years of work and travel, for Parsons Engineering & Construction Company, of Pasadena, California. Ray was preceded in death by his mother, Bertha (Lindemoen) Holmen, his father Norman Holmen and his brother Oren Holmen. Ray is survived by his wife of 54 years, Candis (Hoverson) Holmen, his sister Bonnie (Holmen) Bushaw of Manvel, North Dakota, his nieces Audra  (Bushaw) Prinsen, of Edmonton, Canada, and Amy Bushaw of Grand Forks, North Dakota, his nephews Lee Bushaw, of Bismark, North Dakota, and Jeff Bushaw of Grand Forks, North Dakota, his niece Katie (Holmen) Gag, and his nephew Christopher Norman Holmen, both of New Ulm, Minnesota.
